Unlike the old classic Snake game where the player has to maneuver itself (in the form of a line), which grows itself, the version that Google has put up on its app is quite different. However, the basic idea behind the game is the same – players maneuvering their way to avoid a collision. Google’s version of Snake app involves around you (as a transport vehicle) going around and picking up passengers, which in turn increases your length. To being with, all that a user needs to do is, Open the Google Maps app and tap on the hamburger menu on the top left corner. After which, you will see an option, title “Play Snake”, in the menu. Once opened, you will be greeted with a screen with the ‘Start’ button. Hit ‘Start’ and you will be asked to ‘Choose a destination’, which offers six cities: Cairo, London, San Francisco, São Paulo, Sydney, and Tokyo, in addition to the ‘World’. Now, all that you need to do is swipe left, right, up, down to manoeuvre the vehicle and avoid it from colliding into itself and the sides.

Snake is available on Google Maps across both Android and iOS for a week. So go ahead and enjoy the game. You can also share the game with your friends with the help of a share button provided in the app. In addition to the inclusion in the app, Google has also created a website for the same, which it says will be available long after the April Fools’ is over. You can check out the website here.
